The Sonepat Hindu Education and Charitable Society, Sonepat, was established in the year 1914 by a few businessmen to impart education to the people of Sonepat, a small town and backward area of Punjab in undivided India, with a population not exceeding ten thousand. Shri Shibbamal Agarwal, an industrialist and philanthropist, donated a large piece of land, a building known as 'Zanana Hospital' Female Hospital and a huge amount in cash for the establishment of Shibba Mal Hindu High School. The Society started functioning under the managerial guidance of Shri Panna Lal Agarwal who guided it for over two decades.

In the meantime, a young man Shri Sant Lal Advocate took charge of the secretaryship of the Society in 1927. After the death of Shri Panna Lal, the founder Manager, Shri Hazari Lal Gupta, an engineer by profession, took over the reins of the Society and gave it valuable service till 1954, when Shri Jai Kishan Agarwal was elected the Manager of the Society. Shri Sant Lal Agarwal was a dynamic personality. During his tenure, he very successfully brought the name of the Society on the educational map of Northern India, in association with Shri Panna Lal, the founder Manager of the Society, Shri Hazari Lal Gupta and Shri Jai Kishan Agarwal.
