The focal aim of the college is to prepare top quality teachers who are self confident, committed to their profession, can function as productive citizens and are aware of their social and national obligation.

For achieving this mission, the college supplements theory courses with a series of curricular and co-curricular activities like morning assembly, tutorials, extension lectures, celebration of events of cultural significance etc. An important service center of the college is its well-organized library which is scientifically catalogued and is maintained in a very efficient manner.

The faculty members are encouraged to participate in various seminar, workshops, and refresher and orientation courses etc. conducted by experts in universities and college and by other equivalent bodies. The team recommended that being a post-graduate college with specialist teachers, it has considerable potential for extension and research and can become a center of excellence for school teachers and teacher educators of the region.
